Fanatyk Co Ski and Cycle is not only 100% Canadian owned, but also is one of the remaining “locally owned/and operated” shops in Whistler, with all three original owners still operating the shop and living in the Sea to Sky corridor.
Fanatyk Co started in 1996 as a small 800 square foot Ski and Bike shop specializing in “custom boot fitting” in the winter and “Freeride” mountain biking in the summer. This was at the infancy of the “Freeride and Downhill” mountain bike scene, three years before the Whistler mountain Bike Park opened.
Owners Kevan Kobayashi, Scott Humby, and Bruce Pegram were boot fitters, bike mechanics and friends already living and working in Whistler. All three were passionate about offering Whistler skiers and mountain bikers a specialty ski and bike shop with expert staff and a personalized experience where customers could build a relationship with the shop. The shop has evolved and grown, but that passionate purpose remains the same to this day.
